The Next Chapter

Dear Beloved SOTP Family,

As we write this, our hearts are full – with gratitude, pride, and a touch of bittersweet emotion.

It’s hard to believe it’s been over seven years since we launched Sum of the Parts in late 2018, driven by a simple dream: to create timeless clothing that would become treasured staples in your wardrobe.

Thanks to you, that dream became so much more.

We’ve grown into a community of incredible women who’ve supported, inspired, and challenged us.

Seeing how you style your SOTP pieces in your own unique ways has been the greatest compliment and joy.

From pop-ups at Superlatives and Trixilini to collaborations with J Keyer, Zech, and partnerships with Isetan, Tangs, and Takashimaya – this journey has been unforgettable.

But what meant the most were the moments we met you in person – your stories, your warmth, your encouragement.

In recent years, we’ve leaned into styling services, guided by a belief that the most sustainable wardrobe is one you already own and love.

The deeper we went into fashion’s realities, the more we saw its environmental toll – even with our best efforts.

This has changed not just our business, but us personally. These days, we buy far fewer new clothes, turning instead to second-hand and circular fashion.

And as that shift grew, it no longer felt right to keep creating more.

After much reflection, we’ve made the difficult but meaningful decision to close SOTP the label.

But this isn’t the end – it’s a transformation.

We’re pouring everything we’ve learned into Project Next Chapter, a small publishing imprint that is starting with stories about textile waste, mindful consumption, and ethical production – aimed at educating the next generation.

We believe change starts with awareness, and this new mission feels like a natural evolution of all we’ve built.

From now until the end of October 2025, you’ll still be able to shop our final SOTP pieces.

As a thank you, we’ll be including little gifts selected based on your personal shopping history.

While this chapter is closing, the connection we’ve built with you continues – and we can’t wait to share the next one.
