About Li-Kin:
Li Kin is Founder and Chair of Image Mission Ltd, a registered charity that manages Dress for Success Singapore. Her vision is for a Singapore where women do not live in poverty and this is achieved by empowering them to achieve economic independence and giving them career coaching and professional attire. Li Kin also runs her own business Potenxia Unlimited, an Image & Communications Consultancy, where she works with corporate and individual clients to help them discover their personal best and reflect these through their image and communications.
On Ambition:
I had never dreamt of becoming an Image Professional nor a founder of a charity providing image services to unemployed women in need.
My mother had to work two jobs as a seamstress by day and waitress by night to raise 8 children, and I knew I never wanted to do that when I grew up. My main goal as a child was getting a degree to build a better future. I wanted to do Law but didn't get accepted, so my Arts / Social Science education must have developed my interest and skills to secure work in publishing, market research and subsequently in personal branding.
All of my past experience and achievements have naturally led me to my current work at the charity Image Mission.
All the things I've enjoyed in the past from playing dressing up, being curious about people and behaviour, writing have led me to philanthropy and helping people transform their lives.
On Work Life:
Set milestones I want to achieve, know how to get there, find resources, and set goals to achieve baby steps along the way.
On Life's Purpose:
It's always about touching people's lives, be they family, friends, colleagues and now the community.
I realised that when I touch someone's life, my own life becomes more meaningful.

On Managing Energy:
I'm energised when I can visualise the end result, and I can see the impact of my work or action that will bring positive energy to others.
What zaps my energy would be negativity - people who say 'no', 'it can't be done', or criticise an idea even before you finish talking.
On Your Personal Style:
