It’s only natural that we name our debut pieces after women since SOTP is a brand founded by women, made for women, and has an all women team. Here we celebrate the 9 women who inspire us and the products we’ve named in their honour.
Elsa Schiaparelli - Coco Chanel's rival
The Elsa Jumpsuit
Nope, not the Disney princess you were thinking. Our Elsa jumpsuit is named after Italian fashion designer Elsa Schiaparelli. Along with her greatest rival Coco Chanel, she is regarded as one of the most prominent figures in fashion between the two World Wars.
She was also one of the first designers to introduce the jumpsuit into the fashion world for women. Her post war design was derived by war and practicality in the 1930s. She wanted to create a functional and practical garment that women could wear in the context of wartime as well as an everyday piece of fashionable clothing, and in so doing she made a design that was both practical and socially significant. It represented the independence of women.

Katharine Hepburn was a leading lady in Hollywood for more than 60 years. A tomboy at heart, she started to wear men’s trousers at a time when it was very uncommon to do so because she felt comfortable in them. It was not a popular choice in her time and she alienated part of her audience for doing so, but In time she became popular again as people started to admire her for her fearlessness. Zhang Xin: The woman who built Beijing

Named after Zhang Xin, who has been dubbed “the woman who built Beijing,” real-estate magnate Zhang Xin grew up poor in Communist China, worked 12-hour days on textile factory assembly lines at age 15, used her savings to further her education in England and worked for Goldman Sachs for sometime before founding SOHO China, the largest property developer in China. She is now worth over $3 billion and looks like a million bucks too.

Our Freya draped top and the Lauren knit skirt are named after the daughters of two of our founding SOTP partners. They may just be toddlers, but inspire us daily in so many ways, something we believe many of our SOTP women who are mums will attest to.
